Weasels Ripped My Flesh is the second release from Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention after they disbanded in 1969. The album consist of archive recordings. By the time Weasels Ripped My Flesh came out in 1970 Frank Zappa had already started his solo career but it seems he felt the need to share these recordings and the songs on Burnt Weeny...

...Weasels... doesn't stand on his feet, he has a too fragile equilibrium to be listened at any moment. This one needs a perfect concentration, similar to the one that London Symphony Orchestra needs. The only moment where you can relax is the famous rock'n'roll track My guitar wants to kill your mama. For the rest, it's not easy to appreciate...

Weasels Ripped My Flesh is the send off of the Mothers of Invention. Frank finally decided to drop the name and go it alone, so he emptied the vaults of unreleased tracks and put out this treasure. Now, the fact that these tracks were left off some of the most avant garde releases of their time, or indeed all time, should be an indicator as to...

...Weasels ripped my flesh which is simply as much noise as you can get as fast as possible track. That tune hasn't anything to offer. While a good album it is still one of Zappa's weaker releases and doesn't come even close to be as brilliant as Uncle meat or Grand wazoo or Burnt weeny sandwich by PurpleCobra ZAPPA, FRANK Music Online...

Weasels Ripped My Flesh is only an average Zappa record, all told, stronger than most of his later ones, but weaker than a number of those he produced in the 70s Gone here is the definite chunk of Hot Rats and the solid spunk of Chunga's Revenge. Much of the album is dedicated to noodling. Some incredible ideas are tossed around and implemented...

Remembering Nick Pomeroy

...Weasels, a ska-punk combo devoted to good humor and good times. But there was a lot more than wacky stage antics to Pomeroy, who died of cardiac arrest at age 41 on December 29. (A memorial service is slated for 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 6490 Carr Street, in Arvada.) According to his younger brother,...

...Weasels' "Twist & Burn," Jeri Rossi's "It's A Mans Mans Mans World," and Nails' "Big Star." I think the reason why these three tracks stick out so much to me is because they are not only infectious but also completely unique. I could compare Young Weasels to Joy Division, Jeri Rossi to Mars, and Nails to... well, I have no clue who to even...

ZAPPA, FRANK - Weasels Ripped My Flesh (1970) [rated 3/5 by asimplemistake]

This album is very experimental, with many different styles spread throughout the album. Although I prefer the sections that are more structured and harmonically pleasing, I also find the experimental bits quite funny. Songs like Prelude to the Afternoon of a Sexually Aroused Gas Mask and Didja Get Any Onya are quite funny at parts. Other songs...

...Weasels Ripped My Flesh cost on CD thesedays? A fiver? You can stretch to that, can't you, Kid...I try to fight my snobbery, but my heads swimming. Breathe, Paul. Remember what you learnt in therapy. He's a good Kid. Lots of people use mp3s these days. Maybe the situation isn't as bad as it seems...maybe he normally buys stuff but just...
