If youd go all the way to have a complete view over Jody Grind, youd doubtlessly have to get both of their full works, not just the more important and significant 1969 debut and perhaps the definitive compilation could go in the basket as well, despite not being truly special. Far Canal is, optimistically, not even a quarter worse than the...

A late prog discovery of mine that has left me quite impressed is Endangered, a very late discovery indeed, since Im convinced that had I managed to purchase this avant-prog gem one year before this review Im starting to write now, my best of 2007 personal list would have had some serious modifications. You cant turn back the clock, but you can...

FAR EAST FAMILY BAND - Parallel World (1976)

This album sounds like a combination of Klaus Schulze and Pink Floyd, which is not a bad thing! The vocals are few and far between here. Mostly we get far out trippy psychedelic music with a definite electronic bent to it. Highly recommended to fans of Psychedelic or Electronic music or Krautrock by digdug FAR EAST FAMILY BAND Music Online...

JODY GRIND - Far Canal (1970) [rated 3/5 by Easy Livin]

2008-01-08 04:12:25 by Editor in Progarchives.com (Progressive rock and related latest reviews)

Falling into line Following the release of Jody Grind's debut One step on, the ubiquitous musical differences quickly developed between band leader Tim Hinkley and the other two members. As a result, Hinkley found himself in a similar position to Vincent Crane of Atomic Rooster (an interesting comparison given both were organ players), in...
