...definite evolutions. With the primary use of the synthesizer, heavy and delay with the touch of techno, HAWKWIND practically created a genre of music that be called: psychedelic space-rock. Their creativity seems to be in the use of the synths to add to the intense moods of their songs. They were the master of the acid-space rock genre TOP...

...Definite Form will be released by Orange Grammofon at the end of January. The 3 new songs Ive heard from The Definite Form , however, seem to be embracing the dreamier, more orchestral music of their homeland without sacrificing the rural warmth of the past. To be sure, theyre still filled with chiming guitars and blaring horns, but these new...

...definitely arent there for the music, and an ex-champion boxer. The place itself resembles the old Rock HQ in upper Queen Street in layout and feel. A word of warning. Beware of fleas in the couches The Newmatics are impossible to watch through a combination of a very low stage, and a crowded dance floor. Thats because theyre the sort of...

...definite improvement on the preceding Seven secrets, with far more life to it. To a certain extent, this comes at a price, as the prog content is reduced, the band seeking to make the songs more commercially appealing. The missing track is the brief Seaward sunset Modern masquerades saw the band changing their line up for the first time,...

...definite highlight, a throbbing bass-led vocal melody that grooves along splendidly with slashing shafts of rhythm guitar until the traditional flutes kick in, all topped off with another fluid fret flight. The next one is a towering medieval suite Volta/Basse Danse/Volta that is a pure pleasure, a raconteur-troubadour minstrel in the gallery...

...definite samples of KC is not and should not be about. The first instrumental Sartori in Tangier finds the band partially returning to the ethnic-infected excursions that had worked so well in Discipline (only that the live versions set more ballsy expansions). The same happens with Waiting Man, the apex of the albums first half (again, the...

...definite post metal influences here too though. The slow doomy riffing that is a trademark in that genre is also present here. Layers of synth is also a big part of Heart of the Ages. The music is actually pretty melodic. All songs are good but ...In the Woods is my Favorite here. The singing is both clean and raspy. The rasps are black metal...
