ON THE POTOMAC PRODUCTIONS PRODUCING FEATURE DOCUMENTARY ON BARACK OBAMA
Barack Obama Washington, DC (BlackNews.com) - On the Potomac Productions announces the production of a feature documentary about the life, career and historic presidential campaign of Senator Barack Obama. The documentary will be released for broadcast on nationwide television later this year and will also available on DVD.

Founded in 1986, On the Potomac Productions is a Washington, DC based company that has produced nationally acclaimed documentaries for world-wide distribution, including MLK: The Making of a Holiday (starring LeVar Burton, Marla Gibbs, Stevie Wonder and Coretta Scott King) and James Brown: the Man, the Music & the Message (starring Dick Clark, Little Richard, and The Godfather of Soul), both of which broadcast on network television and are currently being aired on TV One.

The new documentary will be a revealing portrait of Barack Obama: his varied childhood experiences in Kansas, Indonesia and Hawaii, his maturation as an accomplished student at Harvard University and his experiences as the first African American editor of the Harvard Law Review. The program will enlighten viewers about Senator Obama’s dedicated community activism on the South Side of Chicago, his early political career as an Illinois State Senator and his setback in losing an election for Congress. The documentary will examine the events leading up to his inspiring speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention that lead to his winning campaign and legislative record as U.S. Senator. Finally, the program will present a behind-the-scenes look at his historic campaign to become President of the United States, from beginning to end.

The documentary will feature exclusive interviews and video with friends, colleagues and those who have known him from his early childhood to those involved in this historic presidential campaign. The program will also contain an original music score and graphic images to enhance the impact of this fascinating story. The program will air next year in February 2009.

During this historic year in politics, the documentary will profile the man and capture the events of his life and time for generations to come. For more information, please contact On the Potomac Productions at 202-898-0899 or onpotomac@aol.com or the website www.otpVideo.com
