The wheels on the promotion machine continued to go round and round this evening as I put together a Record Store Day Mix to give away to a few lucky customers who attend the event at The Exclusive Co. on Brady & Farwell on April 19 and purchase music from any of the bands performing that day.

While burning said mixes, I found myself listening to a song from Sleep Tight Co. numerous times. I felt the need to share the song and rewrite a few chosen tidbits about the band.

Sleep Tight Co. is a Milwaukee-based band that formed from the ashes of duo Spransy & Kolb. Aaron Spransy was recording a song called “You’re an Orange Soda” at his friend’s studio and thought violins would be a nice addition. He contacted long-time friend, violinist Cathy Kolb, to sweeten the sounds he had created. The duo would later play a few shows together and penned a few more songs.

Aaron and Cathy found themselves yearning to add another dimension to the mix and extended invitations to drummer Andrew Hartzell and bass player Bob Gaszak. After a few practices, the foursome found getting together quite enjoyable and decided to play some shows…this lead to the forming of an actual band.

If you like what I’ve shared below, make a point of stopping by the band’s Myspace page and checking out the other songs they have made available for your streaming pleasure.

Sleep Tight Co. will be taking the Exclusive Co. stage at 5pm on April 19th…hope to see you there!
