mvyradio, Groove House Records, Sonicbids, the Coalition of Independent Music Stores (CIMS) and Vineyard Vines are hooking up to give the up-and-coming artist a chance to get airplay AND retail exposure.

Together, these companies bring you "Fresh Produce, Volume 5", an innovative new exposure tool that provides you with both airplay and widespread distribution. Similar to co-op/sampler packages that you've seen in music magazines, "Fresh Produce" is designed to build awareness for musicians at the retail level and get your music in front of active music fans with minimal risk.

Artists selected for the "Fresh Produce" CD will get on-air promotion including:

A minimum of 3 months rotation on mvyradio's "Fresh Produce Channel"

Spotlight airplay on the on-air versions of the Local Music Caf and the web page for Local Music Caf, mvyradio's most accessed page with 400,000+ mp3 downloads last year alone. Plus, you'll be eligible for featured and / or general airplay throughout the station's 24/7 rotation.

Promotion on retail locations where the "Fresh Produce" Sampler CD is available for pick-up as well as in Vineyard Vines site.

Artists will also get in-store distribution. 11,000 "Fresh Produce" Sampler CDs will be sent out for free distribution to Vineyard Vines retails stores, members of the Coalition of Independent Music Stores (CIMS) as well as 40 CDs for their own personal promotion.

There will be one guaranteed Grand Prize Winner from Sonicbids who will win a slot on the sampler for free ($595 participation fee will be waived for this artist). Once the Grand Prize Winner has been chosen and notified, submissions will be re-open on a rolling basis for consideration to be included on the CD. Sonicbids artists featured on Volume 1 include: Heather Waters, Rebekah Jordon, 9 Red Sun, Mary Beth Maziarz & Wild Honey, Third Road Home and the Meg Johnson Band... On Volume 2, Chris Brown, Phil Ayoub, Marc Douglas Bernardo, Chuck McCabe, Lucy Vincent and Hector on Stilts.
