MY REVIEW IS PRODUCED USING THIS RELEASE: BMG Ricordi/ Numero Uno 74321497952

RATING: 6,5/10

MUSICAL GENRE: Symphonic Prog Italian Version

INTRO: 'The World Became The World' is the second PFM's sung in english album. In my opinion 'Photos Of Ghosts' are better. 'The World Became The World' arrive in a great moment for PFM: in USA PFM are one of the more important European bands, at the same level of Deep purple, Led Zeppelin, Yes, King Crimson... And sure the more popular Italian band abroad. Recorded and mixed at Advision Studios, London except for the overdubes of 'Have Your Cake And Beat It (Instrumental)' with Pete Sinfield lyrics is, in any case, a true good album.

THIS RELEASE: As mentioned 'The World Became The World' is recorded in London with Pete Sinfield lyrics. For me the English lyrics ruin the result of what is not the English version of 'L'Isola Di Niente' but, as 'Photos Of Ghosts', a great compilation of PFM's songs with English lyrics. If 'The World Became The World' ('Impressioni Di Settembre') played good also in this version, 'The mountain' ('L'Isola Di Niente') is ruined by the English lyrics that are too forced in the melodic context. The production are good and also the final result are good. But in general not magical.

THE SONGS: I have already express some ideas about the songs. In this review chapter I limited my oservations. First I observing that technically few bands, including English or German, had the ability to compete with the PFM creating melodic melodies but so complicated. Second observation are that The songs came to us without losing a milligram of their beauty. It is true that in general the English lyrics are forced but only in 'The Mountain' the lyrics totally ruin the song.

CONCLUSIONS: I do not love 'The World Became The World' also if remain a good album. In general the lyrics ruin the songs. But 'The World Became The World' remain a superior album.
