Green Apple Festival Being Held In 8 Cities

The Green Apple Festival, serving beers in biodegradable cups since 2006, will be held simultaneously in eight city parks this year: New York (Central Park), Washington, D.C. (the National Mall), Chicago (Lincoln Park Zoo), Miami (Bicentennial Park), Denver (City Park), Dallas (Fair Park), San Francisco (Golden Gate Park) and Los Angeles (Santa Monica Pier). The outdoor concerts will all take place on April 20th, two days before Earth Day, April 22nd. Green Apple is invested into promoting an awareness of our environment and saving it.

Producers for the event promise "big acts at all of the free eight events." Between April 18th-19th, an estimated 150 clubs throughout the U.S. will become "Green Apple Venues," using environmentally friendly features. (This is where that biodegradable plastic we were talking about earlier comes in.)

The festival is being tagged as "America's Largest Earth Day Celebration." Already it's shaping out to be bigger than before. Last year performers included the Decemberists, Bob Weir & Ratdog, Kaiser Chiefs and Stephen Marley, although it was only held in three locations (NYC, Chicago and San Fransisco.)
