Portland electro-pop sensation Miss Michele Wylen’s voice has found it’s way onto the terrestrial TV screen.
While abductions are solved on Medium, detective Goran is on the case on Law and Order: Criminal Intent and the wholly irrelevant disappointment that is Cashmere Mafia groans along, commercial breaks come and they go. Often a Target spot pops up, alive in red and white and full of toilet paper rolls and puppies. Its soundtrack is provided by Wylen’s version of the Beatles’ “Hello Goodbye.” It’s the same old song that Target has been using for some time, just, apparently, in a new voice each year.
This is bigger than Laura Veirs’ Humane Society spot on a viewership scale, as Target isn’t solely catering to the Pacific Northwest (the campaign is national). The opportunity came to Wylen by way of the same family friend who assisted in her live debut opening for Ladytron in 2006.
