As any DJ will tell you, regardless of the format you choose, taking care of your equipment is essential, after all, no equipment= no DJing, so when handling CDs, try and use the center hole, printed surface and outer edge, try not to put it in sunlight, or with the shiny bit facing up, try not to put it with ths shiny bit facing down wither, and try keep them on a soft silky surface (or soemthing like felt) rather than sand paper.
Next:
1. DO NOT use household washing materials such as windex.
2. DO NOT wipe in circles.
3. DO NOT spray cleaning fluid directly on the CD.
One of the easiest ways of cleaning a CD is by rubbing toothpaste (small amount) gently accross the shiny surface, waiting for a few moments then washing it off under room temperature water, once thats done, you wipe from the center circle out to the outer edge (not in a circular motion), If it’s not possible to get an anti static cloth a fine cloth or very fine tissue will do.
If you find there are major scratches, you will probably want to get some brasso or other polishing agent, but this can be potentially very damaging to the disk, so its best to use something thats designed to remove scratches, such as this: Skipdoctor Advanced Disc Repair System
