Perhaps tired of leading a life so steeped in deception, the mostly-male, totally-not-Brazilian combo Brazilian Girls will at least come clean about their hometown on New York City, their third LP. Due August 5 from Verve Forecast, the set features legendary Senegalese singer Baaba Maal on "Internacional", plus jazz percussionist Kenny Wollesen and his Himalayas on a trio of tracks.

The Girls-- presently a trio, with bassist Jesse Murphy "on hiatus" for now-- will take a taste of New York City to a few select locales this summer in anticipation of the record's release. [MORE...]
