The New England Culture Fest is the globe's premiere music festival celebrating fair trade and sustainability, brought t you by non-profit organization Second World (Media, Music and Art for a Better World). Held on September 6, 2008 in the historic cobblestoned Artist District of beautiful Downtown Lowell, Massachusetts, the New England Culture Fest is the ultimate festival experience bursting with sights, sounds, and scents of distant lands.
This annual day-long art and music festival will feature an interactive video installation, the Culture Fest stage, a large Ethical Art and Business Expo, and lots of surprise in-crowd performances. All this takes place in front of over 2,000 fans.
Culture Fest will fill approximately 10 slots with artists who are representative of the spirit of this event, fit the sound and work ethic of the world class festival, and are as passionate as we are to advocate for unity among all people and fair trade initiatives around the globe! The festival features local, regional and national performers in genres including alternative, funk, blues, R&B, soul, experimental, world fusion, reggae, zydeco, rock, pop, Latin, flamenco, video installation art and more.
This event is heavily promoted and marketed by television, radio, print, news articles, e-marketing and even a documentary production of the event itself.
Artists will be thanked for their participation in this benefit fundraising event with a package of services including meals, gift bags, hi-resolution images, and a multi camera DVD of the documentary of the festival - all valued at over $5,000. A small travel stipend for artists coming from out of town is available, based on the circumstances of the performer. Selected artists must participate in promoting this event to their fans.
