Full Sail University- Free DVD demo
Full Sail University, located near Orlando, FL, is looking for bands to come to their campus and perform in their Live Labs in exchange for a free DVD mixed from a multi-track recording. Artists of every genre ranging from folk and country to string quartets and rock bands are encouraged to submit, as the students would like the chance to work with as many genres as possible. Local artists and those who will be touring through the Orlando area are welcome to submit. Full Sail University typically books 70-90 artists per semester.
The university offers AA, BS and Master degrees in several different disciplines including an AA degree in Show Production and Touring. In this program, students learn all aspects of live production, including set-up up and operation of audio, lighting and video for live events. They stress a hands-on approach and need musicians to come in and perform up to a 50 minute set for student Live Labs.
In exchange for their performance, selected acts will be given a DVD with the stereo mix from the broadcast room and a CD mix from the simulcast room before they leave the night of the lab. Additionally, artists will also receive a DVD with mixed audio from the multi-track recording. These mixes occur at a later lab and are usually available a month after the live session. Artists may receive the digital tracks to mix on their own if they'd like them to be transferred to a DVD as .wav files. Artists should bring a blank DVD-R to the lab and let the instructor know that they would like the tracks. The requested tracks will be available approximately 6 to 8 weeks after the live session.
This is a great opportunity for artists to obtain new demo material and to see what they look like on a big stage with full production. Artists must have at least 3 songs in their EPK, and if selected will need to sign Full Sail University's Artist Agreement.
