On this date in 1980, The Undertones released their fifth single, "My Perfect Cousin". It was backed by "Hard Luck (Again)" and "I Don't Want To See You Again". The first two tracks appeared on their second album, Hypnotised. The third track was a non-LP track that was added as a bonus track when the album was re-released on CD. The single reached the #9 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Derry, Northern Ireland punk/post-punk band disbanded in 1983 when singer Feargal Sharkey left. He went solo and Sean and Damian O'Neill formed That Petrol Emotion. The Undertones re-formed in 1999 without Feargal.
