Remiscent of the early days in house music documented on many of the tracks in the Cafe del Mar series compiled by Jose Padilla yet "Souvenir" sounds more modern with lots of ambient overlays. Slow, groovy, and melodic with lots of soul are the words I have come to associate with sounds from Ibiza and Jose Padilla. Its hard to find any other artist producing this type of music. Jose Padilla is in a class of his own.One of the main things wrong with the (music) world today is that there isn't more music that can convey the sense of peace and relaxation that this albums conveys without being dull, and uninteresting. Jose Padilla is one of the most underappreciated people in music today. He has produced so much great music, much more than is represented either here, or on the Cafe del Mar series which he produces. It really is too bad that more of his music is not readily available. If you enjoy smooth, beautiful latin flavored music with ambient overtones, this is an absolute must have.
