Over 180 teams (2,200 participants) – some from as far away as Puerto Rico – have entered the Boys’ East Coast Championships and the South Atlantic Championships volleyball tournaments hosted by the Richmond Volleyball Club at the Greater Richmond Convention Center on May 24-26.
In addition to volleyball, four additional sporting events will be held here during the holiday weekend.
-Cougar 7 v 7 Field Hockey Tournament hosted by Sports Backers and Collegiate School May 24-25 at Collegiate's Goochland Campus will draw 27 teams (330 participants) girls ages 14-19 from Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina.
-Colonial Cup (soccer tournament) hosted by Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Association May 24-25 at fields in Chesterfield County and the City of Richmond will bring 200 teams (aprox.4000 participants) of boys and girls ages 9 to 19 from Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina.
-Beast of the East Adult Men's Softball Tournament hosted by SoftballNation May 24-26 at fields all over the Richmond Region over over 100 men’s teams (aprox.1,300 participants) from Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
-Memorial Day Shootout Fast Pitch Softball Tournament hosted by SoftballNation May 24-25 at fields in Henrico County 40 teams (aprox.500 participants) of girls ranging in age from 10-18.
