Charlie Sexton croons for Bend's crowds.

A little more on Bend Studio: After the fire marshal paid a visit to Bend Studio (and she's been busy lately, huh?) and tomorrow’s night’s Brooks Williams and Kat Eggleston show was moved to Uncle Calvin’s Coffee House, Uncle Calvin’s Web site erroneously reported that Bend was shutting down for good.

Only, not so much.

Yesterday, Michael Terry, manager of Calvin’s clarified himself: “From the message that Ally David of Bend Studio left me a week ago, it sounded like she was completely shutting down.” As a result of that message, Terry posted the incorrect news on Calvin’s site--but quickly removed the info once Ms. David clarified the situation.

“Yesterday afternoon, Ally left me a message that she was not closing and we amended our site,” says Terry.

In any case, it’s a good thing to know that Bend will continue as a live music venue as it is one of the most intimate settings in which to hear some prime artists in unmatched acoustic clarity. Anyone who caught Charlie Sexton’s sizzling performance a few months back can testify to such.

Bend's next show is set to take place on Saturday, August 16, when David Lindley will perform what will likely be another great show for the lucky hundred people to get there first and take off their shoes. --Darryl Smyers
