The Undertones - Jimmy Jimmy
2008-04-21 18:53:00 by Club80 in The Post Punk Progressive Pop Party

On this date in 1979, The Undertones released their third single, "Jimmy Jimmy". It was backed by "Mars Bars". The A side appeared on their self-titled debut album. The B side did not but it was added as a bonus track when the album was re-released on CD. The single reached the #16 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Derry, Northern Ireland punk/post-punk band disbanded in 1983 after four albums when singer Feargal Sharkey left. He went solo and Sean and Damian O'Neill formed That Petrol Emotion. The Undertones re-formed in 1999 without Sharkey.
